Sports Carnival Reflections 2009

Mok ShenTing, 3C1.

This year, we had our Sports Carnival in school (new compound!) instead of CCAB. With new facilities like the Indoor Sports Hall, we definitely fully utilized it! New events, such as Swimming, Bowling, Rollerblading and Archery were included. Clementeens were also competing on a class-basis instead of through Houses, as how previous years’ were.

I believe for many of us, especially the Secondary 1s and 3s, it was a good opportunity for us to further bond with our new classmates. My classmates and I joined “Ultimate Frisbee” and competed with the other Upper Secondary Classes. It was indeed an eye-opener for me as I witnessed many classes showcasing good sportsmanship and also the strong fighting spirit to attain glory for their respective classes.

During our break, we went to support our classmates at their other ongoing events such as Tchoukball and Archery. We also took the time to exchange the coupons given to us for refreshments which were given out by the Girl Guides.

I was really impressed when I witnessed my class, 3C1, fighting hard against 3A2 during their Tchouckball match. The atmosphere reached its highest point as we cheered and encouraged our classmates on court.

After all the games had ended, students gathered at the Indoor Sports Hall for the Teacher’s Telematch and Prize Presentation ceremony.

Though we didn’t win any prizes for Frisbee, my class managed to emerge runners-up in Tchoukball!

It was indeed a fun experience for me as we worked and played hard together as a class.
These great memories will forever be etched in my mind and I am definitely looking forward to Sports Carnival 2010!
